The Dentistry Scotland Awards celebrate excellence in Scottish dentistry, highlighting those who go above and beyond for the profession and deliver exceptional care. Entries are held to such a high standard that even making it as a finalist is an incredible achievement. Ocean Orthodontic Clinic is the proud winner of 2 awards in 2023: New Practice and Practice of the Year.
Ocean Orthodontic Clinic was developed on four pillars: excellent patient care and comfort, the best possible dental treatment, cutting edge technology and a great working team.
The ethos of putting people first drives the practice, resulting in a luxurious dental spa where patients can feel special and receive a quality of service which extends beyond dental treatment. A focus on maximum enjoyment and relaxation for each patient gave shape to the comfortable surroundings of the clinic, with art and decor inspired by the nearby sea, complemented by living plants, lighting technology, diffusers and calming music.
The team at Ocean Orthodontic Clinic takes our responsibility as a health provider very seriously, operating under an unshakeable collective recognition that patient comfort always comes first. We take a holistic view of each patient, considering their overall medical health and wellbeing when administering treatment. This is why we offer Botox treatment as a resolution for grinding issues, or hypnodontics and other additional psychological support for our patients who are especially nervous or troubled. Every patient who receives treatment from us has the sense that they are a full individual and not just a set of teeth.
Being an extension of the local community is very important to the team at Ocean Orthodontic Clinic. We reach out to local charities to educate and assist where possible. It has been our privilege to provide treatment interventions for newly arrived Ukrainian refugees, helping to create a positive and welcoming experience for these unfortunate victims of war.
Ultimately, Ocean Orthodontic Clinic’s dedication to patient care, patient comfort and patient feedback were the critical components to receiving the Dentistry Scotland Award for Practice of the Year. This recognition from the judges is validation for all the hard work of our team.

Against The Odds
Against The Odds is an opportunity for orthodontic patients to share how their treatment has had a significant impact on their lives and to give recognition to their orthodontist. These awards are organised by the British Orthodontic Society and are given to the best account of treatment achieved against the odds any time within the preceding two years. Dr Mustafa won this prestigious award in 2011 and again in 2012, an acknowledgement of his specialist skill and dedication to his patients.
