Treatment of class III skeletal disorder without a surgery and on non-extration basis
This treatment successfully managed the skeletal and dental discrepancies through a fully non-surgical, non-extraction protocol. The total treatment duration was approximately 36 months.
A 67-year-old patient presented with a Class III skeletal malocclusion, characterized by both anterior and posterior crossbite, maxillary constriction, and mandibular prognathism. Severe dental crowding was also observed. The patient sought a non-surgical, non-extraction treatment approach.
Treatment Plan and Progress:
Initial orthopedic correction was initiated using the Carriere® Motion™ Class III appliance over a period of approximately 12 months to address the sagittal discrepancy and deprogram the bite. Following this phase, clear aligner treatment combined with intermaxillary elastics was employed to achieve arch alignment, coordinate the arches, and improve intercuspation.
